"Shaping Cherokee County's Future With Promising Leadership"

Overview

Leadership Cherokee is a comprehensive program designed to locate, cultivate and motivate a new generation of leadership for Cherokee County.

Sponsored by the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, the program consists of eight sessions which explore the history and makeup of the community, current issues and Cherokee County's potential for the future.  Also included is a variety of program related to enrichment activities.

Participant

The Leadership Cherokee class consists of twenty individuals with demonstrated leadership abilities who want to increase their knowledge of the community, become more involved in community activities and improve their leadership skills.

Selection

Candidates may apply directly, or be nominated by Leadership alumni or members of the Chamber. A selection committee reviews applications as a basis for selection participants.

Tuition

The tuition fee for the entire program is $475. Payment is due or arrangements for payments must be made prior to the first session.

Limited scholarship funds are available, based on need, and will be considered only after selection has been made.

Attendance

The program begins with an orientation in August/September and ends with graduation in May. Sessions are one full day per month, and 90% attendance is mandatory for graduation. Participants are also expected to take part in any program enrichment activities and class project.
