Excellent highways, convenient air travel, and quality rail service connect Cherokee County to national and international destinations. Whether your transportation requirements are personal or for business — whether you are trying to move people or goods — transportation facilities are available.
Interstate 85, the main highway link between Washington, D.C., and Atlanta, Georgia, bisects the County. It also intersects with I-26, the primary route between Charleston, South Carolina, and the Midwest. Five motor freight lines have terminals in Gaffney and local service is available from over fifty common carriers. The area is also served by the U.S. and South Carolina highway systems (U.S. 29, S.C. 18, S.C. 105, S.C. 150, and S.C. Scenic Highway 11).
