We’re so proud that our county has this trail. Stay hydrated and enjoy! Hope you have an opportunity to hit the trail! Some things to know:
- access is from concord road trailhead lot or from boat landing
- boat landing is off the frontage road but gates close at 7pm
- concord road lot is open from dawn to dusk
- the entire loop is 7.5miles
- if you go from the concord road lot, you’ll walk .5 mile before getting to the actual loop trail. There, you can either go left or right to do the loop. If you go right, it’s 2.5miles to the boat landing (as reference). If you go left, it’s half a mile to a great bridge and creek.
- mile markers are not on the trail at this time but we hope to have them soon! Meanwhile, hope you have a watch or app to track your distance
- so go out and back or go the full loop!
-ride a bike, hike, and/or take your dog!
- bathrooms and water fountain are located at boat landing
-go prepared and stay hydrated
- expect a challenge!
- the trail is for all ages and levels- beginners, experienced, pros but NOT “easy”
-most is shaded except in field and along the dam
- take pics, post, and share! #hittheWhelTrail
-in case of emergency call 911
